Community Foundation Grant Launches New Career Connections Program

A lead grant from the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation will launch the Career Connections Program, a new initiative designed to help address the city’s workforce challenges by offering high school juniors and seniors early career exposure, job shadowing opportunities and access to post-secondary curriculum.

Applications Open for 2020-21 Youth Advisory Council

Designed for high school students who are passionate about making a difference, the Youth Advisory Council helps teens discover the impact of people helping people. Participants will explore how philanthropy can help create important and meaningful change and will engage in real world experiential learning opportunities centered around the philanthropic process.

Minnehaha County to Help Administer One Sioux Falls Fund

The Community Foundation has allocated $300,000 from the One Sioux Falls Fund to the Minnehaha County Human Services Department to help provide financial assistance for rent, mortgage and utility costs for individuals and families suffering economic effects of the pandemic.

Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and KELOLAND Media Group Donate $15,000 to Bridging the Gap Fund

Nexstar Media, the parent company of KELOLAND Media Group in Sioux Falls, has made a $15,000 gift to the Bridging the Gap Fund from its Charitable Foundation.

Foundation Awards More Than $54,000 to Local Nonprofits

The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation has announced its latest round of Community Fund grants, totaling more than $54,000 in support for local nonprofits and causes throughout our area from February 2020 – July 2020.
