The City of Sioux Falls’ Recreation Trail is one mile longer with the completion of the Big Sioux River Trail Corridor project, partly funded by Jeff and Tammie Broin and the Ashby family. The trail opened earlier this year.

Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation awards more than $72,000 in grants to local nonprofits

The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation has announced its latest round of Community Fund grants, totaling more than $72,000 in support for local nonprofits and causes throughout the area. In fiscal year 2026, the Community Foundation has awarded more than $750,000 through the Community Fund Endowment and other unrestricted funds as part of our competitive grantmaking program.

School-based mental health pilot program serves more than 125 students, sees early success in first year

A mental health pilot program in five Sioux Falls schools has served more than 125 students since it began in late 2025. The three-year pilot program, funded by the Seed for Success Foundation, a supporting organization of the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, provides on-site mental health therapists at five public schools.
