Celebrating 20 Years of the Youth Advisory Council
In 2020-21, the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation will celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the Youth Advisory Council.
For 20 years, this important program has been providing teens with real world experiential learning opportunities centered around the philanthropic process. Participants learn to explore and assess the most pressing needs in the community and have the chance to meet with professionals to fund raise in support of those causes. From the amount raised, the Council issues grants to nonprofits who are working to address those areas.
In celebration of the 20-year anniversary, we have embarked on a project to reconnect with past members of the Council to learn how their Youth Advisory Council experiences have helped shape their lives and influenced their desires to lead, serve and give back to the communities they call home.
