Supporting Area Students

We’re proud to award more than 70 competitive scholarships to deserving students each year. 

Whether you’re preparing to graduate from high school, wrapping up a general equivalency diploma, or working toward your undergraduate or graduate degree, the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation is proud to partner with passionate donors to administer a wide variety of competitive scholarships to help you achieve your educational goals.
 

OUR SCHOLARSHIP WINDOW IS CLOSED

Applicants for 2026-2027 scholarships can expect to receive email notification of award results in mid-May, 2026.

The application window for 2027-2028 scholarships will open on Dec. 15, 2026.

I'm currently a high school senior.

Prepare these documents for your scholarship application:
  • Teacher Recommendation Letter
     
  • Adult Recommendation Letter
    This can be from an employer, a family friend, guidance counselor or another teacher.
     
  • High School Transcript
    A digital copy can be provided by your guidance counselor, school administrator, academic advisor or registrar.
     
  • FAFSA Submission Summary
    Required for all scholarships that include the eligibility requirement to "demonstrate a financial need."
     
  • ACT Score Results
    Required for all scholarships with an eligibility requirement outlining the achievement of a specific ACT score.

I'm currently a college student or a nontraditional student.

Prepare these documents for your scholarship application:
  • Teacher/Professor Recommendation Letter
     
  • Adult Recommendation Letter
    This can be from an employer, a family friend, or another teacher.
     
  • College Transcript
    Required for current college students. This can be a copy of your official or unofficial transcript, but should identify your name, courses completed and cumulative GPA.
     
  • FAFSA Submission Summary
    Required for all scholarships that include the eligibility requirement to "demonstrate a financial need."

Meet Our Scholarship Donors

Scholarship Payments

  • Awards are payable in one installment and will be divided by the educational institution between the fall and spring semesters of the upcoming academic year.
  • Our scholarships are intended to supplement other financial aid and may be applied toward tuition, fees and course-related expenses. Room and board, travel and research costs are not covered.
  • Our scholarships may not be used at for-profit educational institutions.
