Whether you’re preparing to graduate from high school, wrapping up a general equivalency diploma, or working toward your undergraduate or graduate degree, the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation is proud to partner with passionate donors to administer a wide variety of competitive scholarships to help you achieve your educational goals.

Available High School Scholarships
|David Jay Schmidt Memorial Scholarship||This scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Dell Rapids Public High School who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational or technical school. Applicants must also be ranked in the lower 90 percent of their graduating class and demonstrate financial need. The selection panel gives preference to qualified applicants who have not received other scholarship awards.||$3,000||March 15||Apply|
|David L. Profilet Scholarship||Winners of this award must be graduates of a South Dakota high school who plan to attend Augustana University in Sioux Falls. Additionally, successful candidates will have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; demonstrate financial need; and show character traits such as courage, determination, and an ability to overcome adversity.||$500||April 1||Apply|
|Delmar and Rosemary Skluzak Scholarship||This scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Kimball Public High School who plan to attend an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens, rank in the top 50% of their class, and have participated in extra-curricular and community activities. Preference will be given to students who plan to enroll in a South Dakota educational institution.||$600||March 15||Apply|
|Delmer Scott Award||This scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Alcester-Hudson High School who have participated in agriculture courses or Future Farmers of America and who demonstrate financial need.||$400||March 15||Apply|
|Duane and Bonnie Bly Family Scholarship||This scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Brandon Valley High School who plan to attend an accredited South Dakota college or university. Students must also demonstrate financial need. FAFSA Student Aid Report required.||$2,000||March 15||Apply|
|Duane Odland Scholarship||This scholarship benefits children of a Midwest Coast Transport employee, independent contractor, or driver for an MCT contractor. Employees must be employed with MCT for more than one year. Students who apply for this award must have completed one year at an accredited college, university, or technical or vocational school and maintained a “C” average or higher. Applicants must also have the desire and ability to succeed in their chosen field of study.||$750||July 1||Apply|
|Fool Soldier Scholarship||This award is open to descendants of the Fool Soldiers, a group of Teton Lakota men who ransomed the freedom of two white women and six children held captive by a band of Dakota Indians in 1862. Eligible applicants must be able to prove their ancestry; have a GPA of 2.0 or higher; be planning to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational or technical school; and have financial need.||$2,000||March 15||Apply|
|Frank Lingo Scholarship||This scholarship is awarded annually to graduating seniors from Canton High School who plan to attend an accredited college or university, are ranked in the top 50% of their class, have actively participated in extra-curricular activities, and demonstrate financial need.||$1,000||March 15||Apply|
|Fred and Marie Christopherson Scholarship||Applicants who plan to attend a four-year college or university in South Dakota, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.9 after seven semesters, and have a minimum ACT score of 28 are eligible for this award. It is available to seniors graduating from South Dakota high schools.||$3,000||March 15||Apply|
|Gloria Rae Beck Scholarship||Applicants must be graduating seniors who live in the Dell Rapids, South Dakota area, which is defined as the area bounded on the south by Interstate 90, on the north by SD Hwy 34, on the east by the South Dakota/Minnesota state line, and on the west by SD Hwy 19. Applicants must also plan to attend Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.||$1,250||March 15||Apply|
