Pierce and Barbara McDowell are longtime residents of Sioux Falls. They are inspired by the many organizations in the community that do so much to make the city a better place to live. A streamlined funding process allows them to evaluate philanthropic opportunities that align with their family's values.

McDowell Family Philanthropic Mission Statement

Our philanthropy focuses on two main goals: helping youth and families gain the tools and opportunities to succeed, and supporting arts, culture, and vibrant public spaces to enrich our community.

Grant Opportunities

The Pierce and Barbara McDowell Family Fund is administered by the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation. In this funding cycle, the McDowell family reviews applications and makes recommendations based on their charitable goals and interests.

This fund offers two cycles per year with a focus on organizations empowering youth and families to succeed and elevating arts, culture and community spaces.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the online form below. Only applications submitted online through Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation will be considered by the McDowell family.

Funding Range

Funding requests generally range from $10,000 to $25,000.
