The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation is proud to offer the Endowment Match Challenge, a time-limited opportunity designed to strengthen nonprofit sustainability through strategic endowment growth.

This unique program provides a 1:1 match for new organizational endowments and a 1:2 match for existing endowments, making it one of the most flexible and generous match initiatives available. Through this challenge, we aim to help organizations build lasting financial stability.

Match Details

New Endowments

Match: 1:1 of $25,000
Requirement: Must raise $25,000 within 2 years to be eligible
Example: Start with the minimum at $15,000, then raise an additional $10,000 over 2 years to unlock the full match

Existing Endowments

Match: 1:2 of $25,000
Requirement: Must raise $50,000 within 2 years to be eligible
Example: Raise $50,000 over 2 years to receive $25,000 match

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a nonprofit organization
In operation for at least 5 years
Serve the Foundation's 4-county region - Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner
Cannot be a nonprofit whose primary purpose is faith instruction or political advocacy

Submission Details

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed six times per year. Deadlines for submission are:

July 1
September 1
November 1
