Year-End Giving

Dates to Keep in Mind

As we look ahead to the end of the calendar year, we are ready to assist you and your clients with end-of-year giving and grantmaking. As you work with your clients, please keep these important points in mind:

  • Gifts must be received into our accounts or postmarked by Sunday, Dec. 31, to qualify for a charitable income tax deduction in the 2023 tax year.
  • Gifts of complex assets such as real estate, closely held business interests or stock, and planned giving vehicles can take some time to process. These gifts should be discussed with one of our philanthropic advisors as early as possible to ensure approval before year end.
  • If your client is considering a wire transfer of cash, it's important to note that many banks have their own year-end transfer deadlines. We suggest contacting the bank early in the planning process to discuss timelines.
  • The Community Foundation office will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29.
