Andy Award The Andy Award goes to a graduating senior of Rapid City Stevens High School who is on an Individual Education Plan and who best exemplifies Andy’s spirit and character. Candidates are nominated by Stevens High School staff.
Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith Scholarship To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating seniors of high schools in Brookings, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Moody, or Turner counties. They must also have high academic achievement as demonstrated by cumulative GPA, class rank, and ACT score; plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in South Dakota; and be involved in school and community activities. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a desire to pursue and meet educational goals. Children and immediate family members of the firm’s partners and employees are not eligible for the award. Award: $1,000 and $2,500; Deadline: February 15
Delmar and Rosemary Skluzak Scholarship This scholarship is open to graduating seniors of Kimball Public High School who plan to attend an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens, rank in the top 50% of their class, and have participated in extra-curricular and community activities. Preference will be given to students who plan to enroll in a South Dakota educational institution. Award: $500; Deadline: March 15
Engel - Wells Scholarship Graduating seniors from Bon Homme School District 4-2 are eligible for this award. Other criteria for this award include plans to attend an accredited two or four-year academic college, university, or technical/vocational institute; a GPA of 2.75 or higher; financial need; and the desire and ability to accomplish educational goals. Preference may be given but not restricted to children and descendants of former employees of Coyote Sports, Inc., which was located in Tabor, South Dakota. Scholarship not available for 2009-2010.
Gordon Ingwersen Scholarship Graduating high school seniors from Doland High School are eligible for this award. Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school; demonstrate financial need; have a GPA of 2.0 or higher; and demonstrate the desire, motivation, and ability to succeed in his/her chosen field. Award: $750; Deadline: March 15
Hopps Dow Scholarship This scholarship benefits graduating seniors of Groton High School who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school in South Dakota. To be eligible, applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and have the desire and ability to succeed in their chosen field of study. Award: $1,250; Deadline: April 1
Joe and Norma Rahm Memorial Scholarship This scholarship supports graduating seniors of Doland or Redfield high schools who plan to attend a South Dakota accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school. Successful applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be involved in school and community activities, and be highly motivated self-starters. Award: $600; Deadline: April 1
Myrtle and David Blomquist Scholarship This award benefits graduating seniors from Sisseton High School who plan to pursue a post-secondary course of study of at least two years duration, have maintained a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 grading scale for the final three years of high school, and demonstrate financial need. Award: $750; Deadline: March 15
Yeager-Afdahl Memorial Scholarship This scholarship goes to the applicants with the highest class ranking among graduating seniors of Faith High School, traditionally the valedictorian and salutatorian. Applicants must plan to attend a college, university, vocational, or technical school. Award: $4,000, payments divided equally between freshman and sophomore years; Deadline: March 15
