This scholarship benefits children of a Midwest Coast Transport employee, independent contractor, or driver for an MCT contractor. Employees must be employed with MCT for more than one year. Students who apply for this award must have completed one year at an accredited college, university, technical, or vocational school and maintained a “C” average or higher. Edmison Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

The Waneta Drake Miller Edmison Non-Traditional Student Scholarship is available to students 24 years of age or older who are residents of Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner, or McCook counties. Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of six credit hours in a course of study in a degree-granting program and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per academic term at an accredited educational institution. The Helen M. Anderson Scholarship is given to the recipient of the Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship and Award in years when the recipient is both a graduate from a Sioux Falls accredited public or private high school and is enrolled in the Beacom School of Business at the University of South Dakota.

Applicants must be entering their sophomore year at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD. Applicants must have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must demonstrate a high capacity for providing patient, caring, and quality nursing service. Applicants will be considered for award during the spring semester of their freshman year, with the specific date to be determined each year by Presentation College. Applicants for this scholarship must be graduates of a South Dakota high school who are enrolled full-time and are entering their junior or senior year in a baccalaureate-granting degree program in math or science. This award rotates between the following institutions, with each receiving a scholarship once every four years: South Dakota State University, Augustana College, University of Minneapolis, and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Interested students should check with their financial aid office in the fall to determine if the award is available.

Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship and Award
|
Applicants for this award must live in or maintain residency in Lincoln or Minnehaha County — even though they may attend a school outside the area — or they must attend school in one of these two counties. Applicants must also attend a school accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in business and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of business in American society. A motivation and ability to succeed, academic excellence, and community involvement are also criteria for this award. Award: $2,500; Deadline: July 1
