Distributing Grants
Since 1984, Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation has distributed $56 million in grants to nonprofit agencies. The SFACF grants more than $5 million a year, helping nearly 200 organizations. See our grants section for more information.
Building Endowments
Part of SFACF's work is to ensure the future of charitable giving in the Sioux Falls area. SFACF achieves this by attracting donations to organizational endowments; providing free consultations to donors, area estate planners, and other financial advisors; managing gifts of stock, property, and annuities on behalf of local nonprofit organizations that have established endowments at SFACF, and more. Serving as Stewards
Only the largest nonprofits can afford the resources to manage their own endowment funds. But virtually all nonprofit organizations need to develop the long-term, stable source of revenue that endowments provide. SFACF serves as a steward for endowments of small to medium sized organizations.
